Who We Are:

Seaview Crab Company was formed in 2004 in Wilmington, N.C. by brothers Sam and Joe Romano. After they finished college, the brothers went into business together hoping to figure out how to make a living on the water. The company began humbly. Sam and Joe used a small skiff to fish 50 crab pots for local seafood markets. In the first year they learned quickly what most fisherman know all too well; the hardest part of commercial fishing is not catching fish. It's finding a market for your catch. Luckily in 2005, Sam's longtime friend Nathan King joined the company and started a small roadside retail seafood market. Over the past three years the trio has worked together to find wholesale and retail markets for their catch. They continue to catch their own crabs, and they also buy shrimp, clams, oysters, and fish from other local fisherman. The company hopes that this new web presence will help bring North Carolina seafood into more homes and restaurants nationwide.

What we catch and sell:

As sellers on YourPriceSeafood.com we strive to give you as much information as possible about the product you are buying. We provide catch date/location, product information, and informationt that will help to bring a greater consumer awareness about the domestic seafood industry. At Seaview Crab Company we know that buying seafood is more than just buying your next meal. If you have suggestions for information you would like to see posted please let us know. How we package and ship our seafood:

We use a new and efficient Airliner packaging system. This system reduces the space necessary for foam packaging storage, performs better in shipping tests, and is recyclable.  It allows for your seafood to arrive to your doorstep cold and fresh.

Our shipping Policy:

Our shipping days are Monday-Thursday. Friday shipping can be arranged for an additional charge. Our preferred shipping is UPS Next day ground because it is the most cost effective. Look at the shipping map below to see if you qualify for Next day ground. Seafood Policies:

Seaview Crab Company's Live Crab Policy:

Our orders are packed with the freshest and most lively crabs. This being said, crabs are extremely perishable and may die during shipping. We will include extra crabs with your order to help compensate for normal death loss. If you receive an order with a greater than 15% mortality rate for your order quantity, you may qualify for a discount on a future order. If you suspect a high mortality rate, do not discard the crabs. Please call us upon receipt if you have any questions/problems. Be sure to get a count of both live crabs and dead crabs. If the crabs show any movement whatsoever or are bubbling from the mouth, they are alive and are fine to eat. By purchasing live hard crabs, you submit that you have read this policy and understand all inherited risks. When you receive your crabs we recommend that you steam your crabs as soon as possible.

Seaview Crab Company's Shellfish Policy:

We pack our clam orders with extra clams to make up for dead loss. Testing for dead clams is easy.  Rinse them in a sink and let them sit  for a few minutes before examining them.  If the clam's shell is tightly sealed they are fine to eat. If a clam's shell is gapped, then tap the clam with another clam. If the shell closes then the clam is alive, and it is fine to eat. If the shell does not close then it is dead and it should be discarded. (See the policy below) Your clams should live in the refrigerator for a few days, but we suggest cooking or freezing them when you receive them.

**Eating raw oysters, clams, or mussels may cause severe illness. People with the following conditions are at especially high risk: liver disease, alcoholism, diabetes, cancer, stomach or blood disorder, or weakened immune system. Ask your doctor if you are unsure of your risk. If you eat shellfish and become sick, see a doctor immediately.**
