Seaview Crab Company was founded in 2005 by three friends—Sam Romano, Nathan King, and Joe Romano—who were drawn to the hands-on work, freedom, and raw entrepreneurial spirit of harvesting wild blue crabs and selling them directly to the public. What began with 50 crab pots, a commercial fishing license, a pickup truck, and a hand-painted sign reading “Live Blue Crabs for Sale” quickly grew through grit, hustle, and community connection.

After three years of roadside sales and bootstrapping, the trio took over an existing fish market at 6458 Carolina Beach Road in 2009, establishing their first permanent location.

Over the past two decades, Seaview has evolved into a 60+ person fishmonger team with a robust supply chain spanning the North Carolina coast and beyond. While staying true to our roots, we’ve expanded our operations with new tools, professional systems, and a commitment to quality service.

Today, we serve customers through:

  • Multiple retail locations in Wilmington, Sanford, and Spout Springs.

  • A Nationwide drop shipping program via our online platform, Seaview Crab Express, offering a virtual seafood concierge experience.

  • Wholesale deliveries to over 50 local restaurants, 7 days a week.

  • Our very own Seafood Takeout Kitchen, bringing fresh, local meals straight to the community.

As we continue to grow, we remain grounded in the values that launched us: hard work, trust, transparency, and deep respect for North Carolina’s fishing heritage. One of our guiding principles is to root our supply chain and seafood knowledge in the legacy of North Carolina’s fisheries and fishermen, while staying forward-looking—adapting to changing weather patterns, evolving regulations, and shifting customer preferences.
